Through 13 October, 2024
Yael Martínez's work is produced in the socio-political context of some areas of contemporary Mexico, where millenary wisdom and structural violence coexist. It is a journey between horizons connected by loss, where experiences are intertwined and borders are blurred. Martínez uses the image as ritual and resistance, an offering halfway between the controlled act and liberation. The artist's vision is not that of an external documentarian, but that of one who narrates from the inside, with all the subjectivity that makes the stories of barbarism human.
