The exhibition Rosario Cabrera: una pintora a contracorriente (1901-1975) seeks to recover the figure and legacy of the artist, fundamental to understand the artistic education projects of the post-revolution, but also to contribute to the reflection on the role that women developed as active agents in the formal and discursive transformations of Mexican art in the 20th century. The invisibilization of women in the artistic field, as well as in many social and historical processes, led us to question the role of public institutions in these erasures. This exhibition joins a collective effort to study and recognize the work of Mexican women artists of the past and present.
