Genealogies and Dissent

As is intrinsic to contemporary art collections, this showcase of the living and controversial culture of our time involves groupings and lineages, as well as solitary and dissident adventures. It would be a betrayal of this heterogeneity to present the collection as a simplified whole. The maturation and growth of our holdings no longer suggests that it is convenient to disguise their complexity behind general thematic presentations.

Genealogies and Dissent marks a new phase in which the museum's collections will occupy the same section of the building, in a simultaneous display of very diverse nuclei that will be periodically renewed. These cores may be explorations of historical cuts, the presentation of a large-format installations or groupings akin to hypothesis and essay.
